This project was only accessible by air – the largest crane in Canada was not able to do this project without removing a bunch of trees – which is a no-go in a National Park. The old chiller was 30+ years old and used HCFC refrigerant, which is very harmful to the environment. The new chiller installed has an HFC refrigerant, a new industry standard. This one is more efficient with better cooling and less run time, saving energy for the hotel. The chiller will provide Air Conditioning throughout the spa, which meant changing out the inefficient circulating pumps and replacing with an upgraded VFD pump, and tie into BMS system.
